Apple Distinguished School Recognition

We’re pleased to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2024-2027 for inspiring, imagining and impacting teaching and learning schoolwide through continuous innovation.

Our Story

Since 2018 Al-Azhar Cairo Islamic School Banda Aceh pioneered iPad-based learning at the junior high school level in Aceh. In 2021, the elementary school level officially adopted this technology, starting with grade 4 students. The learning program aligns with the National Curriculum, specifically the Merdeka Curriculum, and incorporates iPad-based learning through a Fun Learning approach. Additionally, Tahfidzh learning (memorization of the Quran), Arabic and Islamic Subject Education Worship Practices based on the Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh Religious Curriculum are integrated into the school's program. To cultivate a generation of moral, talented, and self-confident Muslim students, Al-Azhar Cairo Islamic School Banda Aceh implements a Good Habits Program.

Inspire

At our school, giving students opportunities to shape their learning experiences through various aspects of education such as class rules, curriculum topics and project ideas is an important role in student empowerment efforts. Respecting each other's opinions, building strong relationships makes them more active and confident so that they have the potential to create a more meaningful learning experience. This can be a valuable investment in educational achievement, where schools really value students' interests, talents and abilities through project based learning activities. Our school also builds inclusiveness between students and teachers by developing intellectual, skill and achievement motivation through extracurricular activities. Apart from that, our school also collaborates externally in sharing its success through Al-Quran learning activities, technology exhibitions and student work that can be enjoyed by teachers and students of surrounding schools. This makes our school an exemplary school that applies high technology but remains balanced with Muslim character.

Creating a fun and inspiring learning environment is a valuable investment in educational achievement. The use of technology as a tool to improve the learning experience and it is relavant to the development of the times. Through the integrating curriculum with technology, we are preparing students to navigate the world by upholding the values of Muslim character. Teachers become facilitators in developing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking so that students feel confident in facing the demands of modern times by not leaving their identity as a Muslim. In a comfortable learning environment, students are able to appreciate themselves then the motivation and participation in the classroom are increased.

Impact

Consistently, schools have undertaken an formative reflection each semester to measure progress and encourage improvement over the next year. In general, the data sources used the value of oral tests, the written tests and projects performed by students and adapted to the written tests, oral tests and innovative projects. The learning process through apple has better access to the potential of self. The apple distinguished school encourages students to create and visualize more interesting islamic learning through the imovie application. So it can make confidence and be made asa preaching. Differences in students' needs require the teacher to use an access tool to support each student's needs through several learning materials in the form of a video, audio and module so that the student adjusts to his or her needs. This supports making the concept of a nonverbal or nonverbal child school both verbal and nonverbal to create pleasurable learning. Schools provide extracurricular activities, clubs, tahfidz and sports with a view to bringing out talents and interests to their liking. Appreciating the student's presence by giving the opportunity toparticipate in activities both inside and outside the school.
